Yei River County authorities are appealing for calm while investigations are underway to dig out the truth about the arrest of seven elders by security organs early this week.
County Commissioner Juma David Augustine told Radio Spirit on Wednesday over the phone that the five executive chiefs, one community leader and one politician were taken to Juba by Central Equatoria security operatives. He said the county authority was working hard to ensure that the truth was revealed about the arrests.
Mr Juma said he was allowed to see the elders in Juba and they were in good health.
The county commissioner made the clarification following a huge outcry over the whereabouts of the seven community leaders.
