Lakes State Caretaker Governor warned against irresponsible reporting in social and other media saying he would take legal action against defamatory statements.
Matur Chut Dhuol said he will respect responsible freedom of expression but will not tolerate those who use media to deliberately create confusion in the State, Good News Radio reported.He threatened with forced labour those convicted for abuse of expression.
Mr Chut denied rumours that his government was against the youth.
He said he was a family man with grown up children.
He added that he would not tolerate disrespect, even from his children.
Mr Chut defended the appointments of his Deputy Mabor Achol Kuer and Kongor Deng Kong as Minister and Director General of Education, respectively.
He explained that his government wanted to oversee holistic education that promoted formal learning with respect for cultures.
Mr Chut was speaking during the swearing-in ceremony of newly appointed Ministers and County Commissioners in Rumbek on Tuesday.
