An inter-secondary school competition kicked off on Monday in Yei River County.
Chairperson of the organizing committee Samuel Apiu said the competition was to improve on the talents of the students because football was the most important tool in the world that promote peaceful coexistence among the communities, Radio Easter reported.Mr Samuel said students should maintain disciple and good relationships with their competitors and show good example to those in nursery and primary schools.
Nile High captain Daniel Deng said he was very happy because his school opened up the inter-secondary school football competition.
Data Isaac, the captain of Yei Day, said he was happy as his school played in the first football game of this year’s tournament.
The football game between Nile High and Yei Day drew hundreds of spectators to Yei Freedom Square and ended with a one-one draw.
In netball, Yei Day’s girls defeated Nile High 16 to ten.
