The Inspector General of Police or IGP said the national ministry of Interior had ordered keeping all guns of the organised forces in the store.

General Pieng Deng said the Interior ministry had ordered for all guns in the hands of the organised forces to be parked in the store.

He said those on duty must make sure their guns are not move from the duty area.

General Deng said the process of implementation is now going on and that the order will be supervised to ensure full implementation.

The Inspector said the Ministry had formed joint technical committees comprising of all the security organs to identify security problems facing the country.

He added that the committees identified some problems and have came up with a number of recommendations to control the security situation.

General Deng admitted that there is no proper control of the arms in the hands of the civilians.

He explained that the cause of major security problems especially in Juba was because organised forces that had official arms have not been regulated.

Mr Deng said most of the guns used by the criminals come from the police, SPLA and some individuals who smuggle from their villages.

He said the ministry will introduce new measures to control guns from going to the hands of unauthorized person.
