Acholi community of Magwi County planned to build a monument to keep the record of Palotaka Parish as a model of peace building in South Sudan and Sudan.
Ê
Acholi community chairperson, Albino Okeny said Parishioners of Palotaka would in future erect a monument in form of specialized cemetery or a museum for the clergy and dedicated Christians with their full photos and biography.

He said Palotaka Parish deserved history because it had built up the life of father Michael Okello and other priests and contributed in building peace in South Sudan and Sudan.
Mr Okeny added that in the future the people of Palotaka will exhume the bodies of their priests buried in different places and repatriate them to the Parish.
He said parishioners in those days did not take the church as a charitable organisation but instead offered to it humble gifts such as grains, chickens, goats and their sons and daughters.
The Chairman called on the entire community to continue offering their sons and daughters to take the vocation that the late father Michael Okello left.
Mr Okeny added that the church vocation is good because it can transform the life of young men and women into peace makers.
The chairperson made this remarks on Monday at the last funeral rite of the late father Michael Okello who died last week.
