Tonj South County of Warrap State received text books from the state government.
Tonj South County Education Deputy Director, Samuel Mayiik Mawien said distribution of the textbooks started on Monday morning in six of the Tonj Payam schools.Mr. Mawien said the distribution will continue to the village schools in the next few days.
He said that each school will receive a number of textbooks boxes according to the enrolment lists the education department got before the arrival of the books.
Mr. Mawien added that any textbooks being sold in the market place is illegal and should be reported to the authorities.
Mr. Mawien said each school will stamp all the textbooks so that if one book is found in the market, those schools and headmasters will be held accountable.
The Deputy Director said Alternative Education System textbooks and teachers’ guide from primary one to eight are also available.
Mr. Mawien appealed to everyone to be patient as the books will arrive to their respective schools in few days.
