Kapoeta East and Budi Counties peace building football teams tied to a 2-2 score in a match played at Kapoeta South Freedom Square to conclude the youth summit on Sunday.

Spectators were treated to a dramatic 45-minute match that kick off at 6:00pm with over 10 players substituted from each side, Radio Emmanuel reported.

Peace Building Manager for Catholic Relief Services Kogo Manase said the football match was a test of trust and sincerity for young people selected from Budi and Kapoeta East Counties to spearhead the peace building initiative.

Mr Kogo said the age group was targeted for the peace building initiative such that they grow up as friends from different counties, with positive mental attitudes towards each other.

Peace and Justice Coordinator for the Catholic Diocese of Torit John Opi awarded each team 1,000 Pounds.

He said the money was for the entire team because those who did not enter the pitch equally played the match by boosting their mates’ moral.
