A new agricultural community development program will begin in Tonj South County of Warrap State to help hungry families and give work to those without a job.

Group Work director Albino Angic said that materials were arriving from Juba to aid the project being funded by many organizations and supported by both the State and County, Don Bosco Radio reported.

He urged Tonj citizens to register with their chiefs for the project so that their lists are given to the Group Work coordinator.

Mr Angic said each registered worker will also receive daily food along with materials for cultivating including oxen ploughs and axes.

He added that Group Work requested land for farming in the five payams of Tonj and has already received land from the Bongo chief, Ramadan Delenge.

Mr Angic said the agricultural programme will benefit the community by increasing food production and giving work.
