A team from the National and State Legislative Assembly visited Tombura County on Tuesday to discuss issues concerning women.
Veronica Renzi Barikpio, an MP at National Legislative Assembly, told the press that the purpose of visiting Tombura County was to share with the women groups the roles they play in the parliaments, Anisa Radio reported.Tombura County Commissioner Babiro Charles Gbamisi appreciated the work of women in boosting their development at different levels.
He added that women rights should be considered during the discussion in the assembly to avoid any inconvenience between men and women.
County Secretary-General for the women associations Rose Dunguyo appreciated the delegation for visiting them for the first time.
She cited lack of microfinance institutions in Tombura County to support the business women.
Over 250 women from Tombura, Rii Yubu, and Mupoi payams gathered to Tombura to discuss with the MPs their problems.
