Women are insulting and slapping officials operating at Rumbek’s water points because they try to advise them how to keep their containers clean.

Director of Water and Sanitation Barnaba Makuac Magol told Good News Radio that the water team, trained how to manage boreholes and keep order, are not respected by the users.

He said most of his staffs were threatened with beatings at the boreholes if they did not stop disturbing people fetching water.

Mr Makuac urged the people to avoid attacking the water managing staff because they are helping them to keep order and health in the State.

He said the team was acting to prevent diseases.

Mr Makuac requested the community to accept life-saving corrections and respect the water management teams.

Struggles over water are in the order of the day within the communities in Lakes State due to inadequate water points.
