The Governor of Central Equatoria pledged one million Pounds for the construction of a bridge over the Morta River to connect communities of Wuji Payam in Lainya County and the Yumbe District in Uganda.

Governor Clement Wani Konga made the pledge in meeting in Juba on Monday with a delegation led by Yumbe District Residence District Commissioner Herman Sentago.

The delegation discussed the issues of the borderline between South Sudan and Uganda and the construction of a bridge to benefit both communities.

Commissioner Sentago said the meeting was to ensure that the authorities were moving together to solve the border issues.

He added that the construction of a bridge would increase communications and development.

The Ugandan delegation arrived on Sunday and should return on Tuesday.
