Politicking does not allow students from the public university to use their talents to the full.
Fourth year economic student Anthony Peter made the comment after students from the Catholic University of South Sudan defeating their colleagues from the University of Juba in a quiz organized by American Embassy. He told CRN that the Catholic University won the contest because its students were focused more on studies and less on campus politics.
Mr Peter added that the debate brought together ten students from both universities to test their knowledge on the African-American civil rights movement.
He said the both sides performed very well but the Catholic University won the debate by 11 points.
Mr Peter added that last year the University of Juba won the debate by a single point.
