YAMBIO CENTRAL PRISON RECEIVES 25 ELECTRIC TAILORING MACHINES

The Governor of Western Equatoria State inaugurated five new offices and installed 25 new electric tailoring machines in the state Prison Headquarters in Yambio.

Bangasi Joseph Bakosoro thanked the World Vision International for donating the 25 machines, Anisa Radio reported.

The Governor gave 3,000 Pounds to the prison tailoring unit to improve work standards.

The State Prison constructed five new offices and a conference hall with the support of UNMISS-Yambio.

National Director General for Prisons Abel Makuei appreciated Western Equatoria State prison authorities for carrying meaningful duties as stipulated in South Sudan’s Transitional Constitution.

He urged all prison warders to respect prisons’ rules and regulations for common benefit.

UNIMSS State advisor said the mission worked hand in hand with the National Prison Service to reform and rehabilitate the state prison directorate in Western Equatoria.

Dr. Marc promised to collaborate with all partners to deliver quality services for the inmates and prison officers.

The State Prison offered handcrafts made by inmates during trainings to the governor, ministers, and dignitaries from the National government and the NGO partners.
