Health authorities in Wau closed down two major private clinics over lack of qualified personnel and licenses after a routine inspection one week ago.

Director of Pharmaceutical Service Manal Mohamed said the state health ministry closed down South Sudan Modern Complex and Baggari Modern Complex, Voice of Hope reported.

She explained that Baggari Modern Complex was run by unqualified personnel and without license.

Dr Mohamed said South Sudan Modern Complex lacked a permanent medical director, nurses and midwives and the facility had poor waste management.

She explained that the two private clinics can resume activities after meeting the requirements laid by the State Ministry of Health.

The Ministry inspects health facilities and personnel regularly to check that requirements and conditions are respected.
