TONJ EAST WOMEN’S ASSOCIATION MEET COMMISSIONERS

Tonj East Women’s Association met the commissioners of Tonj East and South Counties to discuss plans for a meeting place in Tonj South County.

Chairperson Athieng Manyuol Maluak said the association was formed in 2011 in order to unite and bring the women together, Don Bosco FM reported.

She said the association started with 30 members and has grown to 438 members.

Mama Manyuol called on the commissioners to allocate land to the Women Association for them to cultivate crops and build offices.

She added that with the donation of a tractor this year from Marial Abur the appropriation of land is more important than ever.

Tonj East, Commissioner Madhol Chol told women to send their children to school, take proper care of their children and to abstain from drinking alcohol.

He promised two bulls to the association for their next celebration.

Mr Chol encouraged the women to visit with the other Women’s Association in Tonj East and share their ideas and plans for the future of their association.

Tonj South Commissioner Mario Monydhieth Gor also promised two bulls and told the women to look around in Tonj South for an adequate place for cultivation.
