More than 3,800 pupils start their Primary 8 Final Examinations in 21 centres in Western Bahr El Ghazal on Thursday. The exams, due to start on Monday, were postponed due to printing problems.
Director of Evaluation and Promotion at the State Ministry of Education, Tomas Biajo Malang, told Voice of Hope that 3,869 pupils received their index numbers and were ready for the exams.He added that the P8 exams are conducted at 21 centres in the three counties of Western Bahr El Ghazal State.
The official said the papers were already in all exam centres by the end of Wednesday.
Mr Biajo said the exams are done according to the three syllabuses used in the state: South Sudanese, Sudanese and Alternative Education.
He explained that this is the last year for exams to be printed in the state and the last year for the Arabic syllabus of Sudan.
Last year, some 3,400 pupils, including more than 900 girls, sat for P8 final exams in 16 exam centres.
