The head of the Episcopal Church of the Sudan (ECS) has on Sunday installed an assistant bishop of Wonduruba, in Lainya County.
Archbishop Daniel Deng Bul told the Christians during the celebration to receive and respect the new assistant Bishop Mathew Taban Peter, Bakhita Radio reported.He said the Bishop was a symbol of unity among the people and his work was to reconcile between God and people.
Archbishop Deng called on the people of Wonduruba to avoid mixing politics with religion.
Bishop Taban commended the founding fathers of Wonduruba including the late Canon Noel Nyoma, the late Canon Zakayo Yatta and the late Bishop Francis Lugga for their legacy.
He called on the people of Wonduruba to avoid division because salvation is only obtained through Jesus Christ.
Bishop Taban said he will work together with the neighbouring Dioceses in order to establish peaceful co-existence in the area.
He prioritized reconciliation, capacity building, women issues, youth, orphans and widows among others.
