Local artists of Western Equatoria State on Sunday elected their new president and his vice-president for a five-year mandate.
Joy Mbaraza known as Sweet J. announced that the musicians elected Dominic Zaabi to be assisted by BB1, Anisa Radio reported.Eight candidates stood for the elections: four artists and four non artists.
Mr None won the presidency with 24 votes out of 53, followed by BB1 with 18 out of 33.
Ms Sweet J confirmed that the elections were peaceful and transparent.
The voters casted their votes through ballot papers at Naivasha Hotel in Yambio.
The female artists complained that they were not considered.

Most of the artists complained about their leadership asking for quick elections to replace Ambassador Koko, the former president.
They also decided that the president should be a non artist assisted by an artist.
