Accountants, cashiers, auditors and other staff of Central Equatoria State ministry of Finance and Economic Planning are being trained to manage public finances correctly.
Director General John Ejino Loku told the press in Juba that the ministry had not trained workers for long time, Bakhita Radio reported.Mr Ejino said most official did not receive any in-job training after they graduated.
The Director explained that the officials were being trained in various sectors of financial management including accounts and auditing.
Mr Ejino explained that in-job training was important because it helped officials carry their duties effectively, allowing them to learn new techniques of financial management.
He said it helped staff to be more confident.
Close to 50 staff are attending the three-week training in Juba.
