The SPLM Extraordinary Convention to approve the updated party documents is scheduled to start at the end of February.
Deputy Secretary-General Anne Itto Leonardo told CRN on Monday that the convention is aimed at passing the SPLM Manifesto, Constitution, Code of Conduct, Rules and Regulations for finances and to conduct elections.She explained that the Extraordinary Convention starts on February 25 and will be attended by the delegates chosen for the Second National Convention in 2008.
The Deputy Secretary-General described the SPLM Extraordinary Convention as very important because it will pass the guiding documents to build a better and more just society in South Sudan.
Dr Itto called on the SPLM members to unite around their value system and chart together better programmes to contribute to the society the ruling party dreamed to achieve during the years of struggle.
