Lakes State youth chairman requested the government to allow the youth to spearhead mediation between cattle keepers in the region.
Apuk Deng Reec told Good News Radio that the youth and not the politicians were able to bring peace to the state because they were able to talk with their peers in the cattle camps.
He urged the state government to facilitate youth activities in cattle camps assisting with means of transport.
The leader stressed that if the youth were given a chance peace would be achieved in Lakes State.
Mr Deng said lack of work was the root cause for violence among the youth in cattle camps.
He explained that most youths at the cattle camps were without cows and they fought because of idleness.
The leader urged the Government to open technical schools for the youth in cattle camps to teach them to earn a living away from violence.
Mr Deng paid condolences on the behalf of the entire youth community of Lakes State to the families who lost dear ones in recent clashes in the area.
