Eastern Equatoria Education Ministry said it is screening over 100 teachers sent to study in various universities.
Director General Adelio Ojina Quinto said the teachers in the list were released for studies in irregular manner without permission from the ministry and that others did not have appointment letters, Emmanuel Radio reported. He added that the irregular departure of the teachers left several schools without teachers and others with limited staff.
Mr Ojina revealed that some names in the payroll include dead teachers and those who have left the ministry to work in other places.
He appealed to Eastern Equatoria school authorities to avoid sending teachers for studies without the knowledge of the ministry of education.
