Rumbek hospital medical director said tribal clashes in Rumbek left dozens dead and over 50 wounded including two women.

John Terry described the situation as chaotic.

He said the fighting started in Jiir Payam between the two communities of Kuei and Panayon in Rumbek Central County, Good News Radio reported.

Dr Teran said the clashes escalated after other communities joined the chaos.

He called for help of more doctors to operate the victims since the majority of the wounded have bullets in their bodies.

Dr. Teran requested NGOS operating in the State to help with anything they can afford including medicines and operation equipments.

He said World Health Organization and Medicine sans Frontieres (MSF) have already started providing drugs.

Over 200 people were displaced and many shops looted.
