The president of the Judiciary of South Sudan has opened a new court to deal with local cases in Kator Payam of Juba County.

Justice Chan Reek Madut announced that the court is part of the Judiciary of South Sudan.

He said anybody who feels unsatisfied over the decision taken by the court can appeal through the Judiciary of South Sudan.

Justice Chan said the court will deal with offenses committed against the local orders.

He called on the City Council to avail the local orders to the judges in order to implement them accordingly.

Justice Chan said the local orders should be consistent with the national Transitional Constitution, human rights and international norms.

He revealed that the local courts in Kator and Munuki Payams will deal with local issues including economic and traffic offenses.

Justice Chan promised another court in Munuki Payam.
