Western Bahr El Ghazal Ministry of Education and Instruction has organized a workshop to address challenges facing education in elevating standards under a quality slogan.
The workshop brought together senior state officials and educational experts, Voice of Hope reported.State Minister for Education Adel Atanasio Surur described in a press statement the workshop as promising.
He said the objective was mainly to address the problems of quality education and to find ways to resolve in issue while state authorities are present.
Dr Atanasio affirmed that his Ministry would implement all the resolutions agreed upon on the ground through its six departments in coordination with counties.
He reiterated his commitment to realize the Millennium Development Goals in fighting illiteracy through Alternative and Accelerated Learning systems.
Dr Atanasio admitted that the standard of education in the state was not satisfactoryÊ despite it performed best in Sudan Schools Certificate Examinations last year.
He explained that this should not be a measurement to examine quality.
The minister appealed to the public to contribute effectively in standardizing education in the state with the little resources they had.
Western Bahr El Ghazal has about 212 Primary Schools, out of which 172 are governmental schools spread over three counties.
