The Community of Northern Bari Payam on Monday interrupted the process of plots registration in Gudele II prior to the area demarcation expected this month.
Juba County Commissioner Stephen Wani Samuel gave the go-ahead to Gudele II Neighbourhood Committee to carry out the registration process. The Head of Gudele II Neighbourhood Committee, Francis Jackson, told CRN that his committee on Sunday announced that the registration process started on Monday and asked everybody to wait at home.
He explained that when the committee went to Gudele Police Station to ask for a police escort for the enumerators they met the Bari community of Komiru.
Mr Jackson said the Bari Community of Komiru interrupted the process and asked his committee to stop the process because the land belongs to them.
He added that the commissioner should clearly tell his committee about his jurisdiction and the rights of the people living under Juba County.
Another member of committee, David Taban, said many people came from all over South Sudan because they know that the capital city can accommodate everybody.
He added that their committee wants Gudele II to be demarcated so that services reach the area.
Mr Taban said he believed that the misunderstanding could be resolved and warned the Government against the escalation of the situation.
