The Office of the President will lead a journey of national healing and reconciliation to harmonize South Sudanese that concludes with a conference in April.
Government spokesperson Barnaba Marial Benjamin told the press on Friday that the Council of Ministers approved a proposal from Vice President Riek Machar Teny to start a journey of healing for national reconciliation.The Council approved the mapping of conflict areas all over the nation as a first step in that journey of peace.
Dr Marial said the Peace Commission will be the focal point of the conference working with the Office of the President.
He added that the event would cost over 8.2 million pounds.
Dr Marial said the Cabinet also okayed the building of a five-start hotel at Juba International airport.
He said an international company will design and build the hotel in two years at a cost of 27 million US dollars.
The company will manage the five-star hotel for 20 years.
The building of a five star hotel was presented by the deputy minister for Housing and Physical Infrastructure.
