Western Bahr el Ghazal’s HIV carriers received a two-day training on nutrition and opportunities to improve food.

The training, which was supported by WFP Wau Sub-Office, shared basic facts about HIV and AIDS prevention, Voice of Hope reported.

Facilitator Michael Edward Peter said he coached carriers on different types of food to be eaten to prevent the progress of HIV into AIDS, advising them to grow their own vegetables.

Mr Edward encouraged carriers to produce their own food and take fruits and vegetables to strengthen their sources of energy.

Director of Sexually Transmitted Diseases in Wau Hospital Alor Deng Majak explained how to treat HIV AIDS and prevent mother to child infections.

Dr Deng urged carriers to remain on treatment.

He urged the public not to fear testing for HIV and stop discrimination against people living with AIDS.
