SPLM CONFERENCE MEANT TO SUPPORT PARTY

The recently concluded conference between the SPLM or Sudan People’s Liberation Movement and the Norwegian Labour Party was important because it was meant to support each other.

SPLM Deputy Secretary General Anne Itto said the conference came as a result of a two-year old memorandum of understanding signed between the two parties to share ideas and support since they have the same ideology, Bakhita Radio reported.

She explained that the SPLM wanted build a peaceful, just, free and prosperous state.

Dr Itto said the SPLM invited the Norwegian Labour Party because they belonged to the same political family.

She added that the conference aimed at translating ideology into programmes and priorities for the Government.

Norwegian Deputy Finance Minister Kjetil Lund – who led the Labour delegation to Juba √ɬê told journalists on Tuesday that his party was social democratic.

The SPLM Deputy Secretary General said the three-day conference concluded successfully.
