China has lent money to South Sudan for Chinese companies to build 100 health facilities across the country.

Deputy Health Minister Yatta Lori Lugor told the CRN that the ministry is already choosing the companies to do the building work.

He said some states, including Central Equatoria, have already chosen the sites for the health facilities.

Dr Lori said smaller states get four facilities while larger ones will have six.

The deputy minister did not disclose the amount of money China was lending to South Sudan to build the 100 health facilities.

South Sudan needs loans from abroad to deliver basic services after last year’s oil shutdown.
