Yei primary schools are receiving their share of textbooks offered by the United Kingdom to South Sudan.
Spedag Interfreight logistical officer Yakani Festo Isaac told Radio Easter that UKAID offered some 9.6 million textbooks to be distributed by the 4,500 primary schools in the country.He explained that the donation aimed at boosting the quality of primary school education.
Mr Festo said the distribution started in Eastern Equatoria and will cover the ten states.
Yei County Education Director Charles Lumori said the textbooks improve learning by exposing pupils to reading, culture and literature.
The Department for International Development, a United Kingdom-based organisation, is distributing the primary school textbooks following a memorandum of understanding signed with the national ministry of education.
