Cattle keepers grazing their animals in Lainya County of Central Equatoria were told by the state government to return their animals to their homelands to minimize cases of cattle raiding.
Mundari Committee Deputy Chairperson Richard Jake came from Terekeka to visit Lainya cattle camps in an awareness campaign to implement the government’s order, Radio Easter reported.
He urged fellow Mundari cattle keepers in Lainya and other counties to take their animals back home for peaceful co-existence.
Lainya County Paramount Chief Laki Yona said the people of Lainya welcomed any person in to the county.
He added that Lainya people only opposed cattle keeping in the County.
Chief Laki said guests should maintain peace, love and unity in the county by taking back their cattle since they were a source of conflict in Lainya Country.
