KIIR, BASHIR MEET IN ADDIS ABABA

The presidents of South Sudan and Sudan are meeting Friday in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, in a bid to free the implementation of the cooperation agreements signed by the two countries last September from added demands.

Issues of border security are delaying the resumption of oil production in South Sudan and Abyei is still an open question.

Government spokesperson Barnaba Marial Benjamin said yesterday the implementation of the cooperation agreements was priority despite of Sudan’s attacks in Western and Northern Bahr El Ghazal border areas.

Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn hosts the presidential summit between Salva Kiir Mayardit and Omar Hassan Al Bashir under the patronage of Thabo Mbeki.
