At least 105 thousand Christians were killed in 2012 because of their faith.
Italian organization Religious Freedom Watch said many Christians were martyred in Nigeria, Somalia, Mali, Pakistan and Egypt by Islamist militants. Others fell victim of ethnic tensions in Orissa, in India.Massimo Introvigne, who coordinates the Religious Freedom Watch, said to go to mass has become dangerous in some countries.
He added that the persecution of Christians is now the first world emergency in the issues of religious violence and discrimination.
Mr Introvigne said there is no other faith that fought, till the attempts of mass genocide of its members.
The watchdog said some 200 millions Christians suffer for their faith, manly in Africa and Asia.
