Eastern Equatoria Deputy Governor has called for some changes in the new education programme.

Jerome Gama Surur said the current curriculum does not give the young people knowledge and skills for practical work, Radio Emmanuel reported.

He added that the education system of South Sudan only trains young people for white collar jobs.

Mr Gama lamented that most youths do not want to engage themselves in hard work preferring to be idle.

He encouraged young people not to select jobs but help the nation by engaging in any income generating activities taking advantage of natural resources and going after the odd jobs that give money.

The Deputy Governor of Eastern Equatoria appealed to the young people not to wait for the Government to provide jobs but make efforts to put their skills, knowledge and talents into good use.
