The Catholic Archbishop of Juba has called on all the faithful to cultivate faith and trust in God during 2013.

Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro wrote in his New Year message that 2013 should be an opportunity for Christians to grow in their understanding of faith and live it more deeply.

The Archbishop, who wrote from Italy, added that all must have trust in God.

Archbishop Lukudu urged Christians to pray together as families and communities during this New Year’s celebrations.

Vicar General Nicholas Kiri Bate read the Archbishop’s message for Bakhita Radio.

Archbishop Kukudu said he prayed that the South Sudanese should find a special light in order to change their lives and find the right path of reconciliation, understanding, love, peace and holiness.

He asked everyone to pray and be filled with love and peace in order to be together for the glory and salvation of all the people of God.

Archbishop Lukudu is under medical attention in Italy.

The doctors said the operation has been a success but the archbishop requires a long period of rehabilitation.
