Twenty two schools in Agok County of Warrap State are lacking basic teaching materials affecting more than 20 thousand students.

Acting Director of Primary Education in Agok, Chol Pur Chol, said the schools did not get text books, chalk and blackboards since they opened in April, Internews reported.

He added that lack of teaching materials together with shortage of teachers and insufficient classrooms hindered the learning process of students.

Mr Chol said the education department was not able to improve the education structure due to those difficulties.

He called upon the Government and concerned agencies to intervene.

Many pupils attending Agok schools were displaced from Abyei since May last year.
