Margaret Itto chairs the Pageri based Afro-Organic Farmers group, a medium scale crop production company with a small scale food processing enterprise, Radio Emmanuel reported.Eastern Equatoria Deputy Governor Jerome Surur Gama said Margaret Itto and her sister Ann have set a legacy by using the land for earning a living although bothwe highly educated.
He criticized some religious leaders of misleading people by opposing the government policy to ensure that every citizen did some farming.
He termed them poor preachers who would not lead their followers to heaven.
Mr Surur advised educated people not to eye only white colour jobs.
He said it was an ideology brought by Arabs and since they were gone their mentality should also disappear.
Dr Itto is a medical doctor by profession and her involvement in farming represents a challenge to many young educated persons who do not want to cultivate and only seek office jobs.
The Eastern Equatoria Agricultural show ended on Saturday.
Magwi, Ikwoto and Budi were selected as the best three counties to represent Eastern Equatoria state at the National Agricultural Fair at the end of November in Juba.
