WAU CELEBRATES EID AL ADHA

Muslims in Wau celebrated Eid Al Adha at Moulid Square and the event that drew thousands of believers for the festival prayer.

Sudanese Muslims attended the prayer with their local brothers and sisters, Voice of Hope reported.

Catholic Bishop Rodulf Deng Majak also attended the Eid prayer.

State Information Minister Derrick Alfred Oya addressed the faithful on behalf of state government.

He said Western Bahr El Ghazal remained the most tolerant state in South Sudan.

Mr Derrick explained that issues challenging the state would be resolved, security was stable and Sudanese should not worry about the properties.

He explained the importance of the nine cooperation agreements signed between South and Sudan and told crowd that the agreements were beneficial to both nations.

Mr Derrick said the agreements on banking and trade would benefit dealers in the state.

Eid Al Adha is considered one of the biggest festivals in the Muslim world and it is celebrated annually by slaughtering a ship or goat.
