Tonj South County Fire Brigade, in Warrap State, has stopped bush burning activities in the area.
Officer Deng Acuil announced on Friday that nobody is allowed to burn grass near houses and around the area, Don Bosco FM reported.He said burning is not good because it reduces trees and grass for domestic animals to ashes.
Mr Acuil urged fuel dealers to stop sales near cooking areas in the market.
He appealed to citizens to keep their wells covered to prevent people and animals from falling in.
He made the statement after one bull fell in an open well.
