Eastern Equatoria Government has deployed a security team to investigate killings between the people of Lolyanga and Wororo villages.

One person was killed in Lolyanga Village of Torit County and two in Wororo Village of Ikwoto County last Thursday by unknown attackers.

The state minister for Public Administration and Internal Affairs, Claudio Suleiman Liling, told Radio Emmanuel that the team was sent to find out who started the spat of killings between the two villages.

Mr Liling said that the killing of two people in Wororo could have been sparked by the death of a youth in Lolyanga.

He was shot in hiding after being accused of impregnating four girls.

Mr Liling said the deceased boy was hiding at a home of the area chief when assailants shot him dead at night.

The killing prompted a revenge attack to Wororo.

The Lolyanga-Wororo killings had temporarily blocked the Ikwoto-Hiyala road as passengers feared falling into cross attacks.

The Minister clarified that the situation was calm and there were no more attacks and killings after the incidents.
