UK International Development Minister warned that the growing refugee crisis in South Sudan is likely to worsen as a result of renewed fighting in the Sudan.
Lynne Featherstone visited Jusuf Batil refugee camp in the Upper Nile State and saw how thousands of families are now being provided with shelter, food, clean water and urgent medical care.The Minister was shocked by the refugees’ situation and expressed concern that fresh fighting could increase the refugee crisis.
Ms Featherstone asked for a peaceful solution to the conflict in South Kordofan and Blue Nile states.
