Lakes State governor has appealed for peace and stability with Sudan to bring development to South Sudan.
Chol Tong Mayaye told the press upon his arrival from Juba that the time had come for South Sudan to embark on cooperative peace with Sudan for the development of the new nation, Good News Radio reported.The Governor said peace with Sudan would enable both the national and state governments to deliver basic services to their citizens.
Eng Tong noted that it was time oil production resumed since it was the only source of revenue South Sudan had.
He also noted the importance to open the borders for trade.
The Governor arrived in Rumbek on Monday after a two-week official visit to Juba.
