CULTURAL TREASURY LAUNCHES INTERSTATES WRESTLING

The Cultural Treasury in conjunction with the national ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports has launched and interstates wrestling competition to promote peace and unity.

The competition between Central Equatoria and Jonglei state kicks off on Saturday morning at Juba Football Stadium under the theme “Wrestling for Peace and Unity”, Bakhita Radio reported.

Cultural Treasure Director for Operations Malaak Philip Chol presented the event to the press on Wednesday in Juba.

Joseline Samson Apaya, Directress of Sports in the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, said the wrestling competition intended to make peace among the youth of the country.

The event that costs 37 thousand US Dollars is sponsored by a mobile network, a water bottling factory and an insurance company.

Thirty wrestlers are going to participate in the match.

The winner will pocket one thousand Pounds and the runner-up 800.

If the finalists draw they get 900 Pounds each.

Matches among wrestlers from all states start in December.
