The Chief of Protocol at the Office of the President issued some norms restricting the use of the Seal of the Republic, the National Coat of Arms, the Presidential Flag and the National Flag.

Ambassador Majak Philemon Majok wrote IN THE ORDER that the restrictions meant to put some order on the rampant misuse of the national symbols of South Sudan.

He cautioned that the state’s symbols are being misused in logos, billboards, advertisements and as business cards by the citizens and business community at large.

Ambassador Philemon said only the President, and some ministers, the judiciary and the Attorney General can use the Seal of the Republic and the Coat of Arms and the Flag cannot be used as logo or trade mark of any business company.

Ambassador Philemon said the new rules have to be strictly and immediately observed by all citizens of South Sudan.
