The government will respect the views of journalists on the media laws if they are shared and accepted by the National Legislative Assembly.
National Deputy Information Minister Atem Yak Atem told CRN on Monday that his government will accept and abide by the Media Bills the parliament will pass.He said the bills will regulate relationships between media, government and citizens.
Mr Atem called on journalists to be patient while the media bills undergo scrutiny and public discussion.
He advised media practitioners to be responsible and balanced in their stories.
Mr Atem said some journalists are writing without control but when the media laws are passed the situation will change.
He warned journalists not to promote hate, violence and lawlessness.
The Deputy Minister for Information was commenting on the media bills now in the parliament waiting for a public hearing.
