The UN World Health Organization, WHO, has pledged to build maternity ward and send some doctors to Yambio Civil Hospital.
A WHO delegation from Juba visited Yambio on Thursday to brief the state’s health minister about the complaints he raised last month to the agency, the state website reported.The UN agency also pledge to send two doctors, one obstetrician and one gynaecologist, in order to reduce the high mortality rate in the state and train some health workers.
The Catholic Radio Network (CRN) is a media project constituted by community-based radio stations broadcasting in Frequency Modulation from Juba, Yei, Torit, Yambio, Rumbek, Tonj, Wau, and Malakal. For its outreach, CRN has a potential audience of about seven million people, considering the influx of returnees to South Sudan after the Sudan Population Census 2008.
