Wau County Commissioner resigned on Friday evening over the transfer of the county’s headquarters to Baggari Payam.

John Peter Miskin explained to Voice of Hope that he handed in his resignation because he considered that the state Governor lost trust in him.

The resignation came after the protesters took to the streets to block the County headquarters transfer to Baggari scheduled for Friday.

Mr Miskin advised the protesting youths not to use violence.

He advised protesters to form a committee in order to solve issue democratically.

Mr. Miskin assured that he had no dispute or conflict with any government stakeholder.

The Government of Western Bahr El Ghazal ordered the transfer of Wau and Jur River County Headquarters in order to unify the city administration under the recently created Wau Municipality Council.

Traditional chiefs, intellectuals and other citizens opposed the executive order for the second time.
