The states are due to star issuing nationality documents at the beginning of November.
Director General of Nationality, Passport and Immigration Augustino Maduot Parek told Bakhita Radio on Friday that the national Ministry of Interior launched the decentralisation of documents issuance to the nine states and the process is on the move.Mr Maduot said every citizen had the right to process personal documents in the state where she or he lived.
He added that the nine states should start processing the nationality documents by the November 1.
Mr Maduot said the documents will be processed at state level to lessen costs to the interested citizens but the production is centralized.
Mr Maduot said taking the processing of the nationality certificates to the states represented a great achievement.
He added that the directorate is also planning to move it further to county level.
