Oil companies operating in South Sudan have vowed to disclose the real figures of oil produced every day in their oilfields.
Sun Xiang Sheng, speaking on behalf of the industry, told reporters Friday in Juba that oil operators in South Sudan were happy to resume oil production, Bakhita Radio reported.He said the companies will be transparent with the Government over the quantity of oil produced.
Mr Xiang complained that there was some misconception about the transparency of oil operators in South Sudan.
He assured that operators will reveal exact figures.
Oil Minister Stephen Dhieu Dau said the recently signed agreement in Addis Ababa guarantees security for South Sudan’s oil industry.
He said the ministry is sending 30 people to monitor processing units, pipelines and export terminals in the Sudan.
Mr Dhieu said the 30 officials are already under training.
